Public Service in Motion: Celso Regencia’s 2025 Report Drives Iligan Toward Sustainable Development

Iligan’s Path to Progress: Strong Legislative Action for the People

Congressman Celso Gomera Regencia reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to public service through an extensive report detailing his legislative achievements, community projects, and institutional partnerships aimed at uplifting Iligan City.

Key Legislative Achievements

As principal author, Cong. Regencia authored major bills advancing through Congress, including:

  • HB 04744 – Private Basic Education Vouchers Assistance Act and HB 04745 – Last Mile Schools Act, both on Third Reading.
  • HB 02935 – Iligan Regional Medical Center and HB 02936 – Timoga Eco-Tourism Site Act, both on Second Reading.
  • Proposals for the Iligan City Freshwater Aquaculture Center, AI Industrial Research Park in MSU-IIT, and College of Medicine in MSU-IIT further showcase his commitment to education, innovation, and livelihood.

In addition, resolutions commended Iligan-based scientists and institutions like MSU-IIT for global recognition, highlighting Iligan’s contribution to science and education leadership in Mindanao.


Expanding Healthcare and Social Impact in Iligan

The National Health Program implemented in Iligan City benefited 1,880 residents, with over ₱13.9 million in total medical support, including hospital bills, laboratory services, and medicine. These efforts ensured that families received direct healthcare assistance and access to necessary medical interventions.


Empowering Farmers and Local Communities

Agricultural assistance efforts reached 11 barangays, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture Region X, involving more than 20 water system site proposals and validations. Farmers and fisherfolk benefited from:

  • 1,000 kilos (100 bags) of corn seedlings for 50 hectares of farmland
  • 10,000 tilapia fingerlings and 14 bags of feeds
  • Site validations for tilapia ponds in Hindang, Pugaan, and Rogongon

These initiatives directly support sustainable livelihood and food security in Iligan’s upland and coastal barangays.


Strengthening Institutional Partnerships and Local Collaboration

Cong. Regencia’s office collaborated with multiple national agencies including the Department of Health, Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, DSWD, and DTI, ensuring Iligan’s inclusion in key programs and funding opportunities.
He also represented the city in Regional Development Council and Iligan City Development Council meetings, aligning national projects with local goals to accelerate infrastructure, health, and education improvements.


Celebrating Culture and Community through Diyandi 2025

Supporting Iligan’s cultural pride, Cong. Regencia’s office participated in Diyandi Festival 2025, spotlighting events like Iligan Pop 2025, Ang Tinubdan 2025, and Parada de San Miguel. These celebrations honor Iligan’s heritage while empowering local artists and performers.
