Full-Day Pet Welfare Symposium and Disney-Themed Dog Fashion Show

The Paw-sitive Paws Responsible Pet Ownership Symposium and Dog Fashion Show is set for November 29, 2025, offering a full day of learning, entertainment, and pet-centered activities. Organized by LGU Initao in partnership with Kagayan Alliance Dog Owners Group and several collaborating pet welfare organizations, the event brings together pet owners, advocates, and enthusiasts for an engaging and educational experience.

Activities begin at 8:00 AM at the Initao National Comprehensive High School Gym, starting with a symposium focused on proper pet care, animal welfare, and responsible ownership. The session aims to strengthen community understanding of pet health and wellbeing, promoting awareness through expert-led discussions.

Participants can look forward to a dynamic lineup of activities that encourage community involvement and enhance pet welfare awareness, including:

• Free anti rabies vaccination for the first 100 cats and dogs, supporting public health and improved pet care.
• Educational IEC sessions on responsible pet ownership, rabies prevention, and animal welfare, empowering attendees with pet care knowledge.
• A Disney-themed Dog Fashion Show that highlights creativity, costume craftsmanship, and dog fashion show excitement.
• Fun games and community activities designed to build camaraderie among local event participants.

The fashion show kicks off at 2:00 PM, featuring dogs dressed as iconic Disney characters. Judging criteria include creativity and originality, presentation and walk, costume relevance, and the dog’s comfort and behavior. Prizes include 10,000 pesos for the champion, 8,000 pesos for second place, 5,000 pesos for third place, and 1,000 pesos for ten consolation winners.

Open to all dog owners, the event also stresses important mechanics such as ensuring pets are vaccinated, leashed, and comfortable in their costumes. The veterinarian for the show is Dr. Perla T. Asis, DVM.
