MinDA Hails BARMM Energy Master Plan as Key to Mindanao’s Sustainable Future

Mindanao Pushes Forward With BARMM’s Energy Roadmap

The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) lauded the Bangsamoro Sustainable Energy Master Plan 2023–2050, emphasizing its role in shaping BARMM’s clean, reliable, and future-ready energy transition.

MinDA Chairperson Sec. Leo Tereso Magno recognized the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE), together with ETP–UNOPS and CEERD–CSi, for producing a technically sound and collaboratively crafted roadmap. He reiterated MinDA’s commitment to harmonizing Mindanao-wide energy policies, linking BARMM with investors, and supporting capacity-building initiatives essential to sustainable development.

DOE Secretary Sharon S. Garin also highlighted the need to revive the Mindanao Power Monitoring Committee to address regional power challenges and accelerate renewable energy investments.

MENRE Minister Akmad A. Ibrahim emphasized that the plan represents a legacy for the next generation—one anchored in peace, energy access, and economic opportunity for communities across the Bangsamoro.
