City Government of Iligan, through the Office of the City Treasurer, has released the official schedule for the payment of Real Property Tax (RPT) for Calendar Year 2026, including available discounts, installment options, penalties, and a tax amnesty program covering prior years. Property owners are advised to observe deadlines to avoid interest charges and legal action.
Iligan City Releases 2026 Real Property Tax Schedule
The Office of the City Treasurer of Iligan City has officially announced the payment schedule and guidelines for Real Property Tax (RPT) for Calendar Year 2026, in accordance with Article A, Chapter II of City Ordinance No. 10-5664.
Real Property Tax Rates
- 1.375% – Basic Real Property Tax
- 1% – Special Education Fund (SEF), based on the assessed value of real property, including land, buildings, machinery, and other improvements within the city
Payment Options and Deadlines
Real Property Tax may be paid in four equal installments on or before the following dates:
- 1st Installment: March 31
- 2nd Installment: June 30
- 3rd Installment: September 30
- 4th Installment: December 31
Discounts for Early and Timely Payment
- 15% discount for taxpayers who pay the full annual tax on or before January 31, 2026
- 10% discount for taxpayers who pay on time per quarter
Tax Amnesty Program
The City Government is also implementing a Tax Amnesty Program covering unpaid:
- Real Property Tax (RPT)
- Special Education Fund (SEF)
- Idle Land Tax
This amnesty applies to liabilities incurred prior to 2024, including penalties, surcharges, and interest. Qualified taxpayers may settle obligations either through one-time payment or installment payments over two years, excluding properties that have been auctioned, are under compromise agreements, or are subject to court cases.
Penalties and Legal Action
Unpaid taxes beyond the prescribed deadlines will incur:
- 2% interest per month, up to a maximum of 72%
- Possible legal action for continued non-payment
Payments should be made directly at the City Treasurer’s Office, Iligan City.
