Iligan Showcases Cultural Pride Through “Amul Amul hu Banuwa” Celebration
The City Government of Iligan invites everyone to join the vibrant celebration of Indigenous Peoples and Higaonon Heritage Month 2025, carrying the powerful theme “Iligan kag Amul Amul hu Banuwa.” This annual observance celebrates Iligan’s indigenous identity, showcasing the customs, music, and dances that define the Higaonon and other local cultural communities.
Set to open on October 20, 2025, at the Iligan City Amphitheater, the event will feature cultural performances, traditional attire, heritage exhibits, and activities that highlight the city’s deep respect for ancestral roots and local artistry.
This cultural celebration is organized by the Office of the Maranao, Higaonon & Other Cultural Communities, in partnership with the Office of the City IPMR, ECOWEB, DepEd, and NCIP, with full support from the City Government of Iligan led by Mayor Frederick W. Siao.
